Dan & Chad's Monochrome Ibiza-Inspired Wedding at The Shack Revolution

When Dan and Chad first got in touch with us in October 2024, they already had a clear vision for their wedding day…a party!
They wanted disco balls. They wanted lots of plants. They wanted a monochrome colour palette. Most importantly, they wanted their wedding to feel like a huge party from start to finish.
From our very first meeting, Dan and Chad mentioned several times that “we just got each other”, and honestly, we felt exactly the same. We clicked straight away and couldn’t wait to bring their vision to life. As soon as we heard their ideas, we couldn’t wait to bring their vision to life and knew this was going to be a wedding to remember.
The industrial setting of The Shack Revolution provided the perfect backdrop for their monochrome theme. Combined with tropical plants, mirrored disco balls, incredible entertainment, a drag queen host and not one but two DJ booths, every detail came together to create a celebration that felt completely unique to them.
From Enquiry to Wedding Day
One of the things we love most about wedding styling is seeing an idea evolve from an initial conversation into a fully realised space.
October 2024 – First contact
Dan and Chad first enquired with us in October 2024 and chatted with Steph on the phone to discuss their ideas.
They were looking for something different from traditional wedding flowers. Their vision centred around living plants, disco balls and a monochrome colour palette, creating an atmosphere that felt modern, stylish and full of personality. Just like them!
Rather than focusing on colour, they wanted the textures, shapes and heights of the plants to do the talking.
November 2024 – Vision Discussed & Agreed On. Deposit Paid
Following our initial conversations, Dan and Chad secured their date and we began planning how we could transform The Shack Revolution into their own tropical party paradise.
March 2026 – Vision Discussed & Agreed On. Interim payment Paid
As their wedding approached, we revisited all of the styling details and confirmed exactly how the various spaces would work throughout the day.
By this point, we knew their vision well and they trusted us to bring everything together using our knowledge of both living plants and the venue itself.
May 2026 – Confirmation of Styling Elements. Final Payment Made.
The final details were confirmed, including venue logistics and timings.
We had access to the venue from 8am, ready for a 1:30pm ceremony, giving us plenty of time to carefully position every plant, disco ball and styling detail before guests arrived.
One of the biggest advantages of working at The Shack Revolution is knowing the venue inside and out. We understand how guests move through the space, where styling creates the biggest impact and how to make each area feel connected.
That knowledge allowed us to create a seamless design that flowed from the ceremony space right through to the evening celebrations.
Creating the Vision
Unlike many of our weddings, this project didn’t require a detailed mood board.
Dan and Chad knew exactly what they wanted, and we knew exactly how to make it happen.
To create their tropical Ibiza-inspired atmosphere, we selected a collection of bold architectural plants including Kentia palms, Bird of Paradise plants, dragon trees, ferns, ivy and pothos. We also made sure we had access to statement Banana Plants to enhance the tropical Ibiza-inspired atmosphere.
The tropical foliage softened the industrial features of the venue while maintaining the monochrome aesthetic. The addition of the disco ball ceiling in the reception area elevated the party atmosphere and helped tie every area together.This was something new for us, but it completely transformed the space and reflected light beautifully throughout the day and evening.
The venue’s existing plant wall, originally created by our sister business Löv Leaf, complemented the styling perfectly and helped reinforce the botanical feel throughout the venue.
Ceremony Styling
For the ceremony backdrop, we incorporated The Shack Revolution’s black and white backdrop structure and layered it with tropical plants to create a bold focal point.
The industrial style of the venue worked perfectly with the monochrome colour palette. Rather than introducing colour through flowers, we focused on interesting leaf shapes, varying heights and different textures to create visual impact.
One of the things we loved most about this setup was how connected the space felt. Rather than treating the ceremony backdrop and signing table as separate styling areas, we used plants throughout both spaces to create one cohesive design.
The result was a ceremony space that felt relaxed, tropical and ready for the celebrations ahead.

Why These Plants Were Chosen
Whilst we often work with the plants in the Löv Leaf shop , for this wedding we specifically made sure we had access to beautiful flowering Peace Lilies and statement Banana Plants.
The Peace Lilies introduced subtle white flowers that complemented the monochrome theme, while the tropical plants helped create the Ibiza-inspired atmosphere Dan and Chad wanted.
Grape Ivy helped connect the disco balls to the taller plants and added a natural trailing element throughout the design. The Alocasia framed the signing table beautifully, while the delicate texture of the Asparagus Fern softened the photographs without distracting from the couple.
Seating Plan Styling
Dan and Chad’s seating plan fitted their monochrome theme perfectly.
Our plants helped ensure it felt like part of the overall design rather than a standalone practical feature.
A large Bird of Paradise immediately drew guests’ attention towards the display from across the room, while a flowering Peace Lily introduced subtle white tones that tied into the monochrome styling.
A carefully positioned disco ball added an extra hint of celebration and reflected light around the display beautifully.

By carrying the same plants and styling details throughout the venue, guests experienced a consistent design from the moment they arrived.
DJ Booth
Rather than leaving the booth as a purely functional area, we transformed it into a focal point within the reception space.
The couple had a DJ playing throughout the day, which was such a brilliant idea and really helped maintain the party atmosphere from start to finish.
We used hanging disco ball planters filled with trailing ivy, large tropical palms, vibrant dragon trees and additional disco balls to frame the booth.
As evening arrived and the lighting changed, the neon sign behind the DJ looked incredible among the foliage and reflections from the mirrored disco balls.
The result was a botanical party backdrop that perfectly captured the energy of the day.

Cake Table Styling
Wedding cakes often have a huge amount of thought, creativity and investment behind them, so we believe they deserve more than simply being placed on an empty table.
Styling the cake area helps create a destination within the venue and encourages guests to stop, admire the cake and take photographs.
For Dan and Chad’s wedding, we continued the tropical party theme around the cake table, ensuring it felt connected to the rest of the venue styling.
The result was a beautiful focal point that looked fantastic both in person and in photographs.

Outdoor Beer Tuk Tuk Styling
We always love styling outdoor spaces where possible.
The Shack Revolution already has some beautiful established planting around the venue, but for Dan and Chad’s wedding we wanted to extend their tropical Ibiza-inspired theme outdoors too.
Large Cordylines were positioned around the Tuk Tuk beer van, introducing bold architectural foliage and instantly creating a more tropical feel.
The striking leaf shapes stood out beautifully against the surrounding planting and helped carry the styling story beyond the main reception space. Each plant pot was wrapped in hessian to continue the tropical styling theme.
